Hormones for Remyelination

Hormones for Remyelination

I just got back from talking to a doctor about using hormones to help accelerate remyelination. She tested my hormone levels apparently from the sickness they’re all rock bottom. For the test she used spit, pee and blood. And to bring my hormone levels back up I’m going to use bio-identical hormones and a testosterone cream I will apply daily. The thought is that if you provide the body with the right building blocks it will accelerate the repair.

[Update]

I have been using the testosterone cream for about a year now and I’ve seen no improvement. It doesn’t discourage me, it just mean I have to keep looking for something to help me.

Rob: hormones are an exciting discovery for help in remyelination. Does it work for ms also? I wonder how many other viral diseases it could help? Also vitamin D seems like it would help so many people struggling with lots of health issues but it is just now being suggested for ms patients also. What are your thoughts?

I would think that having the proper building blocks help recovery from just about any disease (general good health). As for vitamin D one study suggests that the highest blood levels of vitamin D were 62 per cent less likely to develop multiple sclerosis than people with low levels. I take about 10,000 mg a day, you can buy vitamin D in liquid drops its much easier than pills, about 10 drops compared to 50 pills.

Rob: what about the reconnecting in your brain to your foot for lifting it up for the gas pedal? What do you think is causing the reconnection? Is it hormones or vitamins or just time?
