Schwann Cell Precursors
I’ve been doing some research and from what I can tell schwann cells implanted by them selfs just die in the CNS. But schwann cell precursors, (which are immature schwann cells found in embryos) are better at remyelination. Take a look at this article
This has only been tested on animals and has a long way togo before it translates to human trials. Also I’ve been told that stem cells from embryos can have a higher risk of cancerous tumours not to mention the ethical controversy. Currently in the world embryonic stem cells are only used in research. Not a possible solution at this time.
